Hi! I’m Farha, a picturebook illustrator

who loves stories that make you pause, smile, or make you travel to another world. My inspiration often comes from everyday mundane moments, the abundance of nature, and I try to show the way I see the world through a mixed media visual language with food, music and textures and colors.

When I’m not drawing, you’ll probably find me sketching in a café, taking long walks in the charming streets of Paris, or catching up on my reading list.

1) Long ago, a carpenter lived deep in the forest. His only companions were the cheerful woodpeckers. One day he heard a secret hidden in the trees. He got to work right away, carving with care.

2) A strange vision filled the carpenter’s mind.
Whispers from above told of Yamraj, the lord of death.
He would come with two dark companions by his side.
But the clever carpenter dreamed of a way to escape.

3) The carpenter’s time had not yet come.
With his woodpecker companions, he made a sanctuary.
They filled the forest with clever traps and tricks.
Even Yamraj stopped before their courage.

In a heartbeat, God unraveled the carpenter’s masterplan and smiled warmly, recognizing the brilliance behind it. He released the Messenger of Death and his companions, blessing the carpenter with a full, joyous life, knowing he had truly earned it.

These standalone artworks illustrate emotions of tranquility, peace, calm and captures the feeling of my personal world - to be in a relaxed headspace and taking some time out for oneself and finding time to indulge in hobbies and unwind.
